Being sent at Christmas: OMF December 2016

One of the things which struck me most as we landed back in London on the 18th of December 2014 was the vast amount of things there were to see at this time of year. Commercial Christmas was everywhere to be seen in a way that it was not in Bangkok. Lights, trees, various decorations, seasonal drinks at Starbucks… It was all there and it was quite overwhelming. Mission Mondays: The Parade of the Athletes and the Song of Heaven

Another four years has passed already bringing with it the beginning of the Olympic games and I for one love watching the competition. It is a great spectacle, whether we like sport or not, as we see all of the different nations of the world gathering together to compete. God Will Come: So What?

It has been suggested in the past that Satan’s greatest trick was to convince people that he does not exist. There is an element of truth to this, however I suggest that it needs to be expanded. What people in a western worldview context have been convinced of more fully is that there is no such thing as God’s judgment. And even if there is, “for the sake of hypothetical argument”, then two common objections arise, 1. I’ll be fine because I’m not to shabby 2. I refuse to be held accountable to this God.    Continue reading
