Exposure: OMF April 2019

“Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each in the room of his pictures? For they say, ‘The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land’” (Ezekiel 8:12)

Just over a year has passed since our prophet had experienced a quite extra ordinary encounter with God. And here we see him caught up once again in an incredible experience with some shocking revelations. This section (8:1-11:25) is an exposure of the bad leadership which is at the heart of the people of God’s big problem. Continue reading

Reset: OMF February 2019

“Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell of my face, and I heard the voice of one speaking”. (Ezekiel 1:28)

Everything had changed. Picture it. As Ezekiel stood looking out across his new home around the Chebar canal, he knew the world was never going to be the same again. It had been a long 5 years on the other side of the world. Reaching his 30’s made him stop to think about what could have been. Trained as a priest, ready to fulfil his calling; but that had all disappeared. Continue reading

A heart of repentance? OMF April 2018

“I the Lord do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed…. return to me and I will return to you, says the Lord Almighty”  (Malachi 3:6-7)

It leaves us hurting and has the potential to embed a deep brokenness into many of our relationships. What we know for sure about the character of God though is this; he is no deceiver. Communicating the Good News of Jesus in Scotland’s Millennial Generation

I really desire to see the church in Scotland grow and flourish; clearing the stones, breaking new ground and reaching the vast number of people around us who are unengaged with the the good news of Jesus. But one of the big challenges which faces the church is the integration of and interaction with the Millenial generation.  Continue reading

The Night Before

Wandering from person to person seeking consolation, in a never changing fraud.  All around there seems no answer at the core; where is the assurance I long to know?

Light from heaven once shone drawing out a praise misplaced. This light though misunderstood lead from the place of disgrace; changing, challenging, securing.  Continue reading

Our Lives Refrain: OMF July/Aug 2017

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21)

Across the world there have been many people over the years who have given themselves for what they believe in. These last few months have seen many events in our own nation vividly illustrating this point. Take the attacks in Manchester & London or the rallying cry of either the political left or right as good examples. With tensions rising and global financial markets increasingly uncertain it seems unavoidable that we, as God’s redeemed people, remember our purpose. Continue reading
